Just Ordered These New Products!

Just Ordered These New Products!

In the past 2 weeks I made two GINORMOUS purchases, one for $500 at Sephora two weeks ago and one from Ulta for $300 last week. I am all stocked in the makeup department. Really I don’t need anything right now. I don’t like to “collect makeup” especially Mascara and eyeliner, I will buy a few of my favorites on Black Friday when they are on sale at Sephora for $10, and literally use those all year long. I got several of the Buxom Mascara 2 years ago on Black Friday, and this year I had a mix between Two Faced Better Than Sex and the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara. I buy 3-4 for $10 each, the Two Faced came with a Mascara and eye primer, the Tarte came in a cute little gift set, and I am good all year long.

When I run out of eyeliner I buy a new one, but I always keep a spare in my drawer just incase my felt tip dries out. I do collect palettes, you just can’t have too many eyeshadow palettes. I have 3 contour kits on hand, several bronzers, 3 cases of makeup I don’t wear, and a drawer of brand new never open makeup. Really do I need more than that?

Sometimes a product catches my eye that I know is probably unnecessary but I just need to try it! Even though I just purchased a Becca Champagne Pop two weeks ago, I had to try Jeffree Stars new summer collection, Summer Snowcone Skin Frost highlighter. I actually never purchased with Jeffree before because the shipping is so expensive. However Beauty Bay gave me free international shipping, even with a purchase of only $32 including tax. I am so excited to try his highlighter, I hear they are all super pigmented and make you glow like no tomorrow.

The next product I am going to be trying this week (or when it gets delivered) is the Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist. It is kind of ridiculously expensive at $48. Quick tip though if your buying from Sephora they have free shipping on purchases of $50 or more. They also have the Tatcha Limited Edition One in a Million Luminous Dewy Skin mist for $50. It is the same exact formula just comes in a different “limited edition” bottle. By paying $2 more for the product, I didn’t have to buy anything else and I saved a couple dollars than if I were to pay for shipping on a $48 purchase.

I have heard mixed reviews about the Tatcha mist. Some people say it makes their skin oily. Some people swear by it. Some people use it under there makeup, others use it over there makeup. The great thing about Sephora is if I hate it, I can walk into the store and get my $50 back.

I am confused about one thing. So I just bought the Rainforest of the Sea Foundation, its a water base, right? Some Youtubers like Jamie Genevieve use oil all over their skin first as a serum, then within a minute go in with a foundation. I get using a foundation stick might work, but what about all my water base foundations? I tried several and they just don’t soak into the skin, the foundation almost sits on top of the skin. It looks terrible! How are they getting theirs to look so flawless? Ever heard of the phrase oil and water don’t mix? So if anyone has any tips to give me on that one please let me know what I am doing wrong or what foundation I should use. I have tried the Tarte Double Duty Beauty Gel Foundation, Maybelline Fit Me Mattee and Poreless Foundation, Rainforest of the Sea Foundation, and Amazonian Clay, none work quite right!

I discovered a Youtuber just yesterday, OMG SHE IS SOOOOOO FUNNY! Her videos just made me laugh so much, she’s just a personality. RawBeautyKristi  if you have never watched her she is really good. I am on an email list for the Jaclyn Hill Palette but I did want to see a review if it is worth buying or not, hers was by far the best, so if you are looking into the Morphe x Jaclyn Hill Palette, def watch her review. She said something that made so much sense to me after talking about the Naked Palette something she hated and just didn’t work for her. “Maybe you think your really bad at makeup, but your actually really good at makeup your palette is just shitty.” Something along those lines. So maybe I am doing my makeup right, I am just using a bad or the wrong product in regards to serums + foundations.

If you have tried either of these products, please let me know and give me some feedback! Plus the whole serum + foundation thing, yeah I really need some help in that department so if you have any advice please leave me a comment or email me: serena@earthybeautyblog.com

Xoxo,

Serena
